Information about Football Game - Friday and Mini-Camp - Saturday

The purpose of this letter is to provide information concerning our second home football game this Friday and our full band rehearsal this Saturday.

Friday, Sept. 16, 2016

Report to band room                              5:35pm
Warm-up (in senior lot)                           5:50pm
March to stadium                                    6:20pm
Pregame Performance                          6:45pm
Game begins                                         7:00pm
Halftime Performance                            @8:00pm
Dismissal (at flagpole near band room)    @9:45pm

Students are to wear their show tee shirt, shorts, socks and tennis shoes.  Students will need their flip folders and lyres; they should also bring a small amount of money for drinks/snacks following their performance.

Saturday’s rehearsal is crucial for many reasons:  1) we will finish all of the choreography and body movement for the show that we will compete with next week; 2) we will spend quite a bit of time cleaning drill and music execution; 3) we will get the opportunity to try on the uniforms to make sure everything fits correctly; 4) we will bespend our evening block rehearsing in the stadium, under the lights; and 5) we will be only one week away from our first competition!!!
Students may eat on campus or leave campus for lunch/dinner.  Although there should be sufficient time to “eat out,” please think ahead as to where you might like to dine so that you have enough time to drive safely and eat a decent meal.  There is really no problem with hanging out in the band room!

And…all friends and family are invited to enjoy our rehearsal for the final hour of the day!  Essentially, we will be planning to perform our entire show at sometime during this hour.  It’s really a nice time for all of our parents to gather in the home stands and watch something magnificent all come together!  You can then pick up your child right from the field (eliminating that long walk☺).  

Other Announcements:

1. All uniforms need to be returned to the band room by this Saturday.  We will be wearing parts of the uniform during rehearsals next week.

2. If you have the time to attend/help out with any of the following this Saturday, consider these:  

a) 9-10am - PNC Info/Training Session 1 in the cafeteria for anyone interested in working PNC this year.
b) 1:30-4:30pm  - Uniform “Dress” Rehearsal - need several parents to help with final fitting check.
c) 3:30-4:30pm  - PNC Info/Training Session 2 in the cafeteria for anyone interested in working PNC this year.
d) 7:30pm - State Fair Parking Info/Training held at old stadium prior to our “Performance Hour.”

3. Band BBQ at Swift Creek Community Center next Friday, Sept. 23!  Yum!!  Please go to the BBQ Sign-up button on the website to sign up to help with this critical fundraiser—we still need lots of help, especially BBQ-ties to pass out flyers to local businesses for pre-sales.
