Band Booster Meeting Feb. 16th, 2012 Meeting started at 7:35 Secretary: Previous meeting minutes approved. Treasurer: Not much to report. If anyone would like a copy of the budget Brad will email a copy to them. Band: Betsy reported that the winterguard show themed “Rainy Day” is going very well. In last weeks competition they came in 2nd out of 10. Next competition is Cary on Feb 25th. Percussion will be competing at that one also. Percussion is still deciding between 2 types of drums, Dynasty and Yamaha. Senior Slide Show: Need someone to put together the slide show shown at the End of Year banquet. ADAF: We have the funds for the drums. We had a new keyboard donated. May 12th will be the Mothers day concert. Need help from people for the silent auction. Also need some people to start thinking about taking over ADAF next year since most will be graduating. RBC: Have 14 more events. We have met our Contracted events amount. Bulls: Will have the same stand as last year, and not the beer cart. April 3rd starts events. We need to reach out to incoming freshman to let them know about opportunities. Spirit Wear: Have new bags, shorts, and blue hats. BBQ: April 27th (early release) same food. Trying to come up with ways to promote presales. Scrip: FREE MONEY! Kay Jamison: We are looking for people interested in being on next years Band Board. Let her know if you are interested. Director: March has lots of concerts and competitions coming up. 14 students in the All District Band. 2 are able to audition for the All State Band. Coming up: Guard, Percussion, State Festival , and Disney. Decision on the Drum purchase will be made in the next 2 weeks. Have had meetings about next seasons Marching Band Theme, its getting close and there will be props! Meeting ended at 8:45 |
