Band Booster Meeting April 12th, 2012 Winterguard: Betsy Talbert and Lindsay Still reported at AIA finals the guard finished 2nd of 15 for prelims and 2nd of 10 for Finals. Will start clinics for next year’s guard soon. Winterpercussion: Orange line finished very strong this year. Blue line heads to Dayton next week for WGI. Mothers Day Celebration: Will be different format this year. Boosters will be organizing everything but the silent auction which ADAF will take care of. Will be more for Mothers this year. It will be in the evening at the school with Chamber Music, Band concert, cupcake war, silent auction, and desserts only – no dinner. Inviting alumni back. Silent auction will open online May 1st and some items may last until banquet. Senior Slide show: Kellie McGee will be in charge. She needs pictures by May 1st. Bulls: Buzz Culotta said he will start checking advance sales of tickets for each game so it will be better to judge how many staff will be needed. For low attendance games not as many are needed. Some adults have signed up under the student signups because they do not want to handle any beer sales, that is ok. Carpooling to the games has been working well. There will be a RAS meeting on the 24th @ 6:30. RAS training from the PNC works for the Bulls also. BBQ: Need to sell 1300 plates!! Laura Ashford needs to know if anyone has any presales. She also has a list of places that need to be approached for presales . Need the preorders by the 24th. Scrip: FREE MONEY!! Spirit Wear: New hats ($14) cinch bags- will do monogramming on them again before band camp. Treasurer: Brad Bullock – “I got nothing!” NC State Lemonade: April 21st will be the Spring Football game and will need staffing for 2 large stands- they are kid friendly. Checkers: There will be games on the 17th,18th, &19th if the Checkers make the playoffs and they will be at the PNC. Lets Eat: May 15th at Moe’s and Marmalade Skies Chamber Concert: Will need baked goods for after the concert. ’12-’13 Board : Kay Jamison submitted the following board- Co-Presidents: Kay Jamison & Aleece Spalding Vice president of operations: Buzz Culotta Ways and Means: Jenae Emanuel Treasurers: Brad Bullock and Richard Spalding Secretary: Jami Summers Members at large: Lynn Sherwood, David Zonderman, MaryKnierim, Jim Merchant. Director: Since the last meeting on March 1st- 2 concerts, State Festival – (with both bands receiving all superior ratings.), Winterguard and Winterpercussion going to AIA finals, band had 2 members in “GradMan” , and Disney!! With a huge thanks to Linda Bryant and JoEllen Mock for planning and executing the whole trip! Dayton is coming up for percussion, they have never gone to Worlds before. Spring Musical coming up with the Band performing as “the marching band”. Chamber concerts and playing for the XYZ Club coming up. Drum Major tryouts, section leader interviews all coming up. May 14th & 15th start Guard and Percussion auditions. 2 Spring concerts coming up. Leah Jamison will be performing with the All State Band on May 5th. Mothers Day Concert on May 12th. Band Banquet on June 3rd. |
