The Athens Band Semi Summer - $20K in 20 Days Kick Off!

The Athens Band Semi Summer - $20K in 20 Campaign is Now On! 

We are looking to raise $20,000 in 20 days - July 20 to August 8, 2017 - to purchase a Semi-Trailer.  TOGETHER, we can create this 18-wheel legacy for the band! All it takes to reach this goal is 200 families donating $100 each!  The Athens Band program has touched and affected many people in the program and community!  We all need to “band" together and do two things:

  1. Donate to the cause!  Your donation through this campaign or ADAF will be 100% tax deductible!  Every donation counts, no matter how big or small!  Donate individually or work with a group of your section, class, neighbors, friends, and co-workers to pool your resources so you can donate more together.   
  2. Spread the Word!  Help your family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers understand what the Athens Drive Band Program means to you and your family by sharing the link to this campaign on your social media and encouraging them to donate along with you!
WHY DO WE NEED A SEMI-TRAILER? 
With a Marching Band consistently 150 + members strong, there’s a lot of “stuff” to haul for band events, including fall competitions and the Outback Bowl in Tampa Florida on January 1, 2018.  The past few years, we have been renting a truck that our awesome band dads spend countless hours outfitting (then tearing down) weekly to efficiently haul all the band’s “stuff”, including everything from uniforms and instruments to props and guard equipment.  There has to be a better way!  A semi-trailer will give us space and efficiency we need for this larger band over the long term!  Besides, wouldn’t it be AMAZING to see the Athens Drive semi-trailer at a competition, parade, or even the Outback Bowl?  Can you imagine the boost in the community or the pride in the school to see the semi-trailer on Athens Drive where the band truck currently sits? WOW!!!

WHAT IF WE RAISE MORE THAN $20K?  
There are many expenses involved with making a semi-trailer operational for the band’s purposes: semi-trailer purchase, design the exterior wrapping, paint/wrap the exterior, equip/outfit the interior to suit our needs, install ramps, hire drivers, etc.  Any money beyond the initial $20K will be used for these expenses involved in equipping and owning a semi-trailer.

The Athens Drive High School Band Program is committed to providing an outstanding music education to ANY students in the school’s attendance zone.  The Band Program has a complete compliment of musical offerings including three class ensembles, Jazz Ensemble, Winter Percussion, Winter Guard and of course, an outstanding Marching Band. The Athens Marching Band performs at all home football games, throughout the state and region in band competitions, three local holiday parades, and has taken many special trips for performances throughout the east coast!  This season, the Marching Band will be traveling to Tampa Florida to perform at the Outback Bowl on January 1, 2018!
