Record Breaking Season

posted Dec 6, 2016, 5:27 AM by Athens Drive High School Band   [ updated Dec 6, 2016, 5:28 AM ]
Just 4 short months ago, the Wizards and Warlocks show debuted at the Parent Preview on Friday night at Wesleyan College to close our week long band camp.  As if it were planned on cue, a rainbow appeared in the sky as the band played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.  Saturday night, we lit up the streets of downtown Apex with our decorated instruments as we marched and played our brand new, custom Christmas melody.  Indeed, it has been a magical season every step of the way!

This article published in the Cary Citizen reports the band’s winning season and attempts to summarize what makes our program so special and unique.  Link to it in your social media and share it with your friends and family.  Help us spread the word about the wonderful things happening in the Athens Drive Band.

Athens Drive Breaks Marching Band Record for Most Wins!

Our students are very talented musicians and more importantly, incredible individuals and people!  We can’t thank you enough for a record breaking marching season!  All your hard work, commitment and heart show with every performance!  As parents, we couldn’t be more proud!!!  Thank you to everyone who has worked to support these terrific students to make this season and band program amazing – all the parents and many volunteers, committee chairs, staff, and assistants who serve to make it all come together and possible.   It simply doesn’t happen without you!

Thank you, Kelly Wright, our Public Relations Committee Chair (and freshman parent) for spreading the word about the fantastic things happening in our band program!
