February/March 2019 PARCC Opportunities

posted Feb 20, 2019, 10:22 AM by Athens Drive High School Band   [ updated Feb 20, 2019, 10:24 AM ]

In February and March we have MANY PARCC opportunities/events for non-TIPS Certified band families.

Please note:  There are also over 100 shifts available for those who are TIPS Certified.  TIPS certified means you have completed TIPS training and are certified to serve alcohol to the attendees of an event.  If you are interested in being TIPS certified (2 hour training course at Raleigh Convention Center), please contact the PARCC coordinator at parcc@athensdriveband.com. (John Sykes)

For the March 23 AKA Sorority Banquet Event, Centerplate is willing to allow a 16 year or older work with their parent at that event.   From Centerplate:  We have an event coming up on Saturday, March 23rd where we are in need of a ton of help. Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority is in house and they currently have a dinner on the books for 4000 people. The time for this shift would be from 5p-10p. Job duties would vary from pouring beverages, to assisting in maintaining cleanliness. All tasks assigned will be very easy. Teens 16 and up can work this event with a parent or guardian. Apparel consists of the standard black shirt, black pants, and black shoes and no experience is required.

This is a great opportunity for you to make money for the band account.  For example, in February, we had one family (2 adults and one 16 year old) that worked 1 shift of 10 hours for each of them at Hall B (concessions). So in one day, they worked 30 hours total for all 3 of them and they earned $240 for their band account.   This is a very quick and fast and FUN!way to pay off your account or work on next year's account  For more information on PARCC, please visit:  PARCC (Performing Arts and Raleigh Convention Center) and Red Hat Amphitheater - Athens Drive High School Band
