Calling all Chaperones!!
This week we are very light on chaperones for practices. Tomorrow we still need winds and percussion chaperones and Thursday we have only 2 of 5 slots filled.
When you chaperone afternoon practice,Doc will be trying to use the old stadium as often as possible. So if you don’t see the students on the practice field, they are most likely in the stadium.
Also, we have now put the September 16th football game and the 9-9 rehearsal on the calendar.
Here are the instructions off the chaperone calendar, regarding football game chaperones:
ARRIVE WITH STUDENTS - PREPARE WATER COOLERS, STOP TRAFFIC FOR MARCH TO STADIUM, SECURE SEATING, ASSIST WITH WATER BREAKS, WATCH INSTRUMENTS DURING HALF-TIME & 3RD QUARTER, KEEP AREA RESERVED FOR BAND MEMBERS ONLY, ENSURE AREA IS CLEAN BEFORE LEAVING STADIUM, MARCH BACK TO SCHOOL WITH BAND
Also, football chaperones need to wear a band t-shirt.
The day is broken up into three 3 hour practices. Chaperones who serve from 9am-12 and 6-9pm will report to the practice field or old stadium. Bring a lawn chair and water bottle. From 1:30-4:30pm students are in sectionals and will be scattered throughout the building. Chaperones will need to rotate around the building to check in on groups throughout the afternoon. Percussion and Guard chaperones will need to check in with captains to find out locations of practice.
Thank you for your help! We couldn’t manage without the help of all of our parents!
