We have a new event for the NCFC Fundraiser! We were contacted to provide concessions help for the Raleigh Flyers Professional Ultimate Frisbee game at Wake Med Soccer Park on April 1st. This sounds like a fun, unique, low-key event, so bring family and friends and have fun earning money for your band account!
The report time is 5:00pm and end time is expected to be before 8:30pm. The pay is $20 per person. The dress code, sign in procedure, parking info, etc. are all the same as for NC Football Club (formally RailHawks) games, and can be found on the signup.
To access the signup, please visit the band's web page at athensdriveband.com, click on the orange 'Volunteer Signups' button, and on the following page, click on the "North Carolina Football Club Signups" link.
We need a total of 8 people, with at least 4 being adults. Adults should sign up in the "Adult" spots until filled, then overflow to the "Adult/Student" spots. Students should sign up in the "Adult/Student" spots.
Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Questions about the book, ordering or creating your own personal pages? Email Susan Uy at email@example.com. I am also happy to meet with parents and students as a group to give a 30-45 minute tutorial after school. Let me know if you are interested and we can arrange a time/place.
The Athens Drive Band Book is in final production and we have 29 days until we go to print. Please visit the "Band Book" page on the band website for details about our first ever "yearbook" for band and how to order your copy from the Treering website: Athens Drive Band Book . Books start at $18.86 for a soft cover and shipping is free, if you order on or before April 25th. (We pushed our due date back by one day to hopefully include pictures from an upcoming Jazz Ensemble performance on April 23rd!). All books ordered by the deadline will be delivered to school in mid-May and distributed by the band book committee.
If you are ready to create an account and start working on your free custom pages (everyone who orders a book gets 2 free pages to create and fill as they like), click this link: Treering Website
Senior Parents - email firstname.lastname@example.org to include a special "senior shout-out" for your senior (with or without a picture) before April 17th. Your special message to your senior can be anything you like but hurry before time runs out! Just attach the (optional) image you would like to include with your emailed message.
Have fun making your pages! Treering will start you off with a page design but it's only a suggestion. You can change your page layout and make it your own!
Congratulations!!! Our talented students did it again with incredible concerts on Wednesday (Wind Ensemble) and Thursday (Symphonic Band) this week! Both ensembles represented Athens Drive at the NC State Festival and earned "Superior" ratings, the highest ratings possible! Earning "Superiors" at the State Festival is the highest recognition we can get about the quality of our band program. We have received "Superiors" for many years now. In recognition of these awesome accomplishments, we will receive more "silver dots" that are hung in the band room! There is already quite a collection!
Thanks, too, for all who came out to see these special performances! Having parental support in the audience always helps to motivate our students to give there best! For the Wind Ensemble performance, there were many other groups watching as well, wanting to see just how Athens Drive does it!
We're beaming with pride over our talented students! We truly do have something special and unique here at Athens!
Susan and Suzanne
There's a lot happening in the next few weeks so we just wanted to sum it all up for you in one place! More details can always be found on the website at www.athensdriveband.com
Did you attend the concert last week? It was absolutely fabulous! We have such talented musicians at the core of our program. Come see their State Festival performances this week! If you have time, come early and see a few bands before our performance so that you can see what others in the area are doing too! These performances don't have many people in the audience so it's always encouraging to the students to have friendly faces in the audience.

Starting in August 2016, the band began offering its volunteers the opportunity to sign up to work events held at the Performing Arts Center, the Raleigh Convention Center, and occasionally Red Hat Amphitheater. This new fundraiser is referred to by the acronym PARCC. For most events at these venues, workers must be adults. There may occasionally be events at which students will be eligible to work. Shifts worked at this venue do not count toward your service credit commitment.
There are many attractive features of this fundraiser, including the following:
·Workers earn a band account credit of $8 for each hour worked.
·These venues run year round, providing additional opportunities to earn band account credits during the slower winter and early spring months.
·The band is not contractually obligated to provide a set number of workers for events, thus avoiding conflicts with band events and other band fundraisers.
·Free parking is provided in the parking deck located beside the Convention Center.
Since many of the events at these venues involve alcohol service, adults wishing to work are required to attend a Centerplate alcohol and venue training session. Centerplate has announced 2 additional training dates in March. If you wish to work these venues, please sign up to attend one of these training dates, as they may be the last offered until next fall:
Thursday, March 23rd from 6 p.m. until approximately 8 p.m. - Exhibit Hall B, Raleigh Convention Center
Saturday, March 25th from 12 p.m. until approximately 2 p.m. - Exhibit Hall B, Raleigh Convention Center
In order to assure that there are enough training materials for everyone in attendance, Centerplate is asking for advance sign up. If you are interested in attending this training session, please sign up no later than Tuesday, March 21 at 5 p.m. using the following link:
Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:
1. Click this link to go to our invitation page on SignUp.com: http://signup.com/go/wodc73
2. Enter your email address: (You will NOT need to register an account on SignUp.com)
3. Sign up! Choose your spots - SignUp.com will send you an automated confirmation and reminders. Easy!
Note: SignUp.com does not share your email address with anyone. If you prefer not to use your email address, please contact me and I can sign you up manually.
These venues are pleasant and easy to work! I hope many of you will take advantage of this great fundraising opportunity. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Is your car not looking its best because of pets, carpool, spring sports, or POLLEN? It's time to make it shine again!
Carolina Auto Spa gift certificates will be available at the band booster meeting tomorrow night. Certificates are good for the Deluxe Wash. They're $24 each, the same price as if you were to drive up to a Carolina Auto Spa location and request it, but $8 goes into your band account!
Waiting for spring to completely arrive and blast us with pollen once again? Purchase a couple to have on hand. Maybe your neighbors or coworkers need some! Buy a few and sell them to others. They also make great gifts! Stock up for birthdays, prom, graduation, Mother's Day, Father's Day, the possibilities are endless! And it helps your band account!

Since introducing Dwolla as a payment option in early 2016, many families have taken advantage of the ability to pay their band accounts electronically from a linked bank account.
Dwolla has notified us that, beginning March 30, they will begin charging a 0.5% fee on each transaction. The minimum transaction fee will be $0.01, and the maximum will be $5.00.
Any band account payments processed by Dwolla on or after March 30 will be subject to the new fee.
Thank you for your understanding.

It's that time of year again - soccer season! And our new NASL soccer team, the North Carolina FC (formally Carolina Railhawks), and our new women's team, the North Carolina Courage, are beginning their spring seasons. Both teams play games at Wake Med Soccer Park, and we continue to have the opportunity to work these concessions as one of our band fundraisers.
Want to earn money for the Atlanta trip, help fund a Winter program, or get a start on funding your band account for next year? This is a great way to do it! Wake Med Soccer Park is located close to Athens, with easy access and free parking.
We currently have requests for workers during the March 22 and March 25 games. ALL band students are eligible to work this fundraiser. The report times are 5:45pm, with the game start times at 7:30pm. The entire shift per game lasts approximately 4 hours, and the pay is $20 per person per game: e.g., a family of 4 can earn $80 for their band account in one game!
More details can be found on the signup at http://signup.com/go/rQXmib. Normally this signup can be found by clicking on the "Volunteer Signups" button on the Band's website, but while we are finalizing this new signup please use the link in this email.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
